about

The invisible path is the clear path of Love and “Mhaba” (Agape).

From the early stages of recording, I envisioned using heavy distorted Guitar lines to delineate a bold pathway that would cut through the illusion of separation, leading the listener into new realms of expression. This fearless approach has been a way of painting a musical canvas, opening a channel to Spirit that is a direct and personal expression of love.

Abderrahim Amrani Marrakchi, head of the Hamadcha brotherhood of Fes was my inspiration for recording this song. The Hamadcha brotherhood was founded in the seventeenth century and is known for channeling the Great Spirit through music and dance. Amrani has dedicated his life to bringing this tariqa (pathway, tradition) to life out onto the world's stage.

At the closing of the song, Aicha, a Kali-like figure, is invoked.

lyrics

I am drawn to these chants of devotion
I am praying for clarity from confusion
I am seeing the Water flow
Benefiting all plants
Quenching every thirst
And those departing towards the Divine
Will leave without regret, and with a loving heart.

The path to devotion is clear
Though it has been controlled by
guardians of religion
The unique access to the truth
is Love and Mhaba
Whoever embraces it will step higher
towards Consciousness.

Let's praise the Divine
With entrancing chants
And songs of virtue
My chest feels heavy with logs
But the divine will be kind to this home.

Oh Aicha, get up and scrawl
You who spellbinds the mind
You who brings darkness to the light
For the love of the Divine,
stand up and dance
You who lives in the mountains, by the stream,
Aicha, it's time for trance.
